The Forest Bathing Festival is a weekend full of nature experiences. There are various sensory walks for young and adults. The Forest Bathing Association invites you to a weekend in coastal nature and welcomes you to experience the peace and health-giving effects of the forest on various quiet experiences, led by certified forest bathing guides.
How does a forest bath take place?
The guides facilitate the participants' own experiences. Forest bathing is a performance-free zone, a slow, sensory walk with a focus on presence. We spend 2 – 3 hours in the forest together, where we start by awakening the senses and becoming aware of the landscape around us. The guide holds the space and gives various invitations to explore and be curious about the nature where we are. The forest bath ends with a simple tea ceremony, and often the tea is made from local plants. It all takes place in a small area 1 – 2 km and is a practice that is suitable for people of all ages.
– Forest bathing is not the same thing as hiking. The destination in forest bathing is "here", not "there". The pace is slow. The focus is on connection and relationship. Sometimes when I tell others about forest bathing, they will say, "I have done that my whole life". Maybe – but probably not. Most of us have never learned the art of stillness in nature.
