Experience the powerful resonance of traditional bagpipes and the expressive, melodic tones of the flute in an atmospheric concert celebrating Celtic music and the historic "Auld Alliance"—the alliance between Scotland, France, and Norway. Featuring a blend of traditional and contemporary melodies, accompanied by piano and organ, this performance unites musical heritage, history, and culture in a celebration of shared traditions and enduring friendship.
Matthew Kidd is a multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow, Scotland, with over 25 years of experience as a bagpipe player. His musical journey has taken him around the world, with performances in diverse settings—including the historic cathedrals of Tromsø and Alta in Northern Norway. Possessing a deep understanding of Scottish musical traditions and a passion for exploring music across cultures, Matthew established China's first youth pipe band in Shanghai.
Now based in Fredrikstad, he continues to perform and share his love for music, blending traditional Scottish sounds with a broad musical perspective shaped by years of international experience.
