Christmas market in the Fortress Town, Gamlebyen Fredrikstad

With its beautifully decorated streets, unique shops and charming cafes the old Fortress Town in Fredrikstad is a great place to get in the Christmas spirit. During the weekends in December the town square and surrounding streets are turned into a traditional Christmas marked.

Here you can find handmade Christmas gifts and delightful edible treats. You can find art, jewellery, crafts, decorations and much more in the market stalls and on the King’s Square.

Don't be surprised if the “Old Town Santa” appears! If you need a little break, the city's restaurants are ready with good food, drinks and warmth.
