Kyststi Gansrød – Øra | Fredrikstad
The stretch Gansrød – Øra is part of the coastal path in Fredrikstad.
The tour starts at the car park at Gansrød, where there is a barbecue area and benches. From here, there is an arranged flat dirt road/path the whole way to Øra – about 2 kilometers each way.
Information signs have been set up along the path about the area you are in. There is also a gap hut with barbecue facilities halfway along the trip. Large parts of the trip will be in the Øra nature reserve.
On Øra there are bird towers with seating both inside and outside. Over 250 different bird species have been recorded in the area.
This is a very special and wonderful area that combines the outdoors, a nature reserve, industry and fantastic views
Along the way, the coastal path splits and you can turn off and continue towards the Old Town instead of going back and forth.

The bear trail is a fun and adventurous hiking trail for children in Bjørndalen in Fredrikstad.
The bear trail is an amazing hiking trail with varied terrain and exciting animal sculptures ready to be discovered. Use your eyes well, som of the birds are high up in the threes, and there are bears lurking behind every corner. This is guaranteed excitement for the young ones. You're welcome to give the sculptures a bear hug, but please do not climb on them.
Half way through the trail there is a nice resting area fitted with several seatings and a fireplace. A perfect place to enjoy your packed lunch.
The bear trail starts and end by the 2nd pond in the Fredrikstadmarka, and is well marked with reflexes. The full trail is roughly 1 kilometer long.
