The Kongsten facility is located just outside the Old Town in Fredrikstad. There are good parking options, and there are also good ferry connections from the center of Fredrikstad. Both the indoor facility and the outdoor facility have been refurbished in recent years, the result is a modern facility both in summer and winter.
Kongstenhallen has an indoor facility consisting of a swimming hall with a large pool and a children's pool and two sports halls with a total of 5 courts. In the summer, you can use the beautiful open-air swimming pool outside. Here you will find a diving tower, children's pool, slide and swimming pool. Large park facility for young and old.

Storesand is a large nature and outdoor area, arranged for swimming, walks, play and nature experiences. Here there are sand volleyball courts, a bouldering wall and prepared barbecue areas. The free area includes Vadholmtangen east, Herreskjær, Paradisbukta, Sjursholmen and Døvika. The coastal path runs right through the area, and along the path you will find several of the fascinating "Whale tufts" – traces of settlements probably from the Iron Age. You can take the coastal path to Skjærhalden to the east, or over to Rødshue and the sculpture park.
Storesand is part of the Ytre Hvaler National Park. Take your time to explore this one. Visitor center for the national park in Kornmagasinet in Skjærhalden. The open air house at Storesand is also located here. The house is part of the Ytre Hvaler National Park Visitor Center and will host exhibitions, activities and information related to the national park throughout the year. In addition, you will find simple catering, sanitary facilities and service for outdoor life.
Storsand is one of the Oslo Fjord's finest swimming beaches, with tent pitches, barbecue pitches, sand volleyball courts, a kiosk and a beach cafe with a liquor licence.

Kroksand beach is close to Skjærhalden center on the Hvaler Islands, within easy reach of the cafes, restaurants and shops. A popular city beach with a nice sandy beach, swim pier and a diving tower. There are showers and public restrooms. During the summer season a swimming-wheelchair is available for people with disabilities.
Kroksand beach has the environmental certification Blue Flag, an international environmental certification of beaches and marinas. The certification scheme has strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, safety and other services.
Not far from the popular bathing beach Storesand, you will find the neighboring beach Ørekroken.
The beach zone, with its 500 meters of fine sand and many fine shells, is shallow and very child-friendly. The beach is one of East Norway's most popular areas for windsurfers and kiters, who can often be seen behind the buoys.
Ørekroken is part of the Kyststien på Kirkøy – a varied and fine hiking trail that moves through historical landmarks, and which leads out to Rødshue and the sculpturepark.
Transportation
Follow the signs towards Skjærhalden. Turn right after driving through the tunnel, follow the road marked Rødshueveien for some distance, before turning left and arriving at the car park.

There is a small parking lot, approx. 50 m from the beach.
Bevø beach is located at Torsnes on the east side of Fredrikstad.
Here you will find delicious sandy beaches and rocky cliffs. Enjoy the lazy days on the beach, while you completely disconnect with the sounds of the sea, the smell of salt water and the cute swan families that have found peace in the Øra bird reserve not far from Bevø.
Good parking facilities 200 meters from the swimming area with a path all the way to the front. Bevø Camping in close by. Toilets, kiosk, litter racks (on the campsite).
How to get here:
From the center of Fredrikstad, drive Rv 110 out of the city in the direction of Svinesund. Turn right towards Øra (Rv 111). Then turn left towards Torsnes (Fv 107). Turn right towards Humlekjær (Fv 532 before Torsnes school). Turn right towards Bevø camping and Bevø swimming pool. Alternatively, you can drive Fv 110 to Borge school and from there turn right and follow the signs for Bevø camping (Fv 532).

Stuevika is a large sandy beach and shallow water. The area boasts scenic surroundings all year round, great scenery for walks in the woods and fields and a nice child-friendly sandy beach with shallow water. Boating and fishing are also great. There is also a small pier here. Toilets and water are available on site.
Stuevika is perhaps best known for the great family tent pitch. There are good accommodation options here for those who want to stay a little longer on this beautiful island.
Stuevika is located on the most south-eastern of the Hvaler islands without a road connection. A short ferry ride from Skjærhalden on Kirkøy to Nedgården takes you to this beautiful place. It is approx. 20 minutes to walk to the tent pitch from the ferry berth at Nedgården, but of course this is very individual in relation to the person.

Mærrapanna bathing place is located on Onsøy in Fredrikstad. Sandstranda is perfect for families with children. The area has playground equipment, an outdoor grill, tables and benches. There are bathing stairs, boat moorings and toilets. Svaberg. In the bay there is a clay/sand bottom and long shallows.
Parking 600 meters from the beach with a good road for carts and bicycles. If you want your own little place in the sun, you will certainly find it here among the sand-sanded boulders and creeping pine.
How to get here:
Drive Rv 110 west from Fredrikstad to Ørebekk. Turn left towards Gressvik. Follow Fv 117 past Møklegård and turn left in the middle of a sharp right turn. Here is the sign for Mærrapanna.

Stop: Nestengsvingen & walk for approx. 15 minutes to Mærrapanna.
Foten is one of the best sand beaches in Fredrikstad with facilities for both children and youth, a beach volleyball court and swimming pier. For hikers there are great trails in the area, and Foten is also a popular place for climbers to visit. The new service building offers refreshments and snacks. The building is open during school summer holidays from 09:00 to 21:00.
Foten is facilitated for disabled people, with parling, wheelchair accessible toilets and a covered way to a separate bathing ramp for the disabled.

There is free parking for up to 12 hours at Foten. Put the time of arrival clearly visible in the windshield of your car.
Vispen Bathing place is located in Skjærviken and has a large lawn, sandy beach and rocky cliffs.
During the summer season, several summer activities will take place at Vispen beach. There will be free lending of a pedal boat, SUP/paddle board, a big jumping pillow in the water and much more. The kiosk is open every day.

You will need a boat to get to Skinnarholmen, Viker. It is situated on the outside of Vikertangen. A popular place for boat tourists and swimmers.
